NotesThursday's game was only four-pitches old when Tides’ DH Chris Parmelee hit the first home run at BB&T Ballpark of 2015. Excluding stadiums situated roughly 3,000 feet above sea level; no Minor League ballpark saw more home runs per game (2.65) than BB&T in 2014. ... Last night's attendance of 10,514 was the fourth-largest ever at BB&T Ballpark and 33rd sellout. Including the White Sox-Knights exhibition game, the Knights scrimmage against Davidson and the UNC-Charlotte-N.C. State college game, the Knights have already welcomed 31,409 fans through the gates this summer. ... Tonight's starter Chris Beck is ranked as the No. 11 prospect in the White Sox system according to Baseball America. Beck, 24, made four appearances this spring, posting a 4.00 ERA with six strikeouts in nine innings of work. Baseball America credits Beck with having the best changeup in the White Sox system, but scouts have really liked what they've seen from his slider this spring. ... Matt Davidson's home run on Thursday was the 101st of his career, which began in 2009. ... Norfolk starter Mike Wright -- who stands an imposing 6-feet-6-inches -- was the Orioles' Minor League Pitcher of the Year in 2013. He was drafted in the third round of the 2011 draft out of East Carolina University.
