Roster move: The Chicago White Sox organization acquired right-handed pitcher Tim Crabbe, 27, from the Arizona Diamondbacks organization on Friday via a trade. After going 1-0 with a 5.50 ERA in 19 games with Triple-A Reno, he was demoted to Double-A Mobile. His one appearance with Mobile was on June 13, when he surrendered one run on three hits while striking out five batters in three innings of work. He was originally drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 14th round of the 2009 First-Year Players Draft and has yet to pitch in the major leagues. It hasn't been announced who the White Sox traded in exchange for Crabbe.

Roster moves: Right-handed pitcher Scott Carroll, who was scratched prior to Wednesday's game against Pawtucket, was recalled by the Chicago White Sox on Thursday. Carroll will be added to Chicago's roster in place of right-hander Hector Noesi, who was designated for assignment by the White Sox on Thursday. Carroll's contract was previously purchased by Chicago on April 26. In eight games with the big league club, he posted a 1-1 record with a 3.12 ERA in 17.1 innings out of the bullpen. Carroll was optioned back to Charlotte on May 28, and in three starts with the Knights, he went 2-1 with a 2.37 ERA.

The Knights placed right-handed pitcher Chris Beck on the DL prior to Thursday's game. In 10 starts with Charlotte this season, Beck is 3-2 with a 3.15 ERA. Beck made his major league debut for the Chicago on May 28 at Baltimore. Against the Orioles, Beck pitched six innings and surrendered 10 hits and five runs (four earned) en route to a 6-3 loss. Baseball America ranked Beck as the No. 11 prospect in the White Sox organization prior to the 2015 season.

Roster move: Outfielder Chris Marrero, who was signed by the Chicago White Sox to a minor league contract on June 5, was promoted to Charlotte on Tuesday from Double-A Birmingham. In nine games with the Barons, he was batting .324 with three doubles and four RBIs. Marrero was selected by the Washington Nationals in the first round of the 2006 First-Year Player Draft. Marrero's promotion pushes Charlotte's active roster to 25 players. The Knights' active roster was at 24 players after first baseman Neftali Soto was placed on the DL on Sunday.

Roster moves: RHP Junior Guerra had his contract purchased by the Chicago White Sox on Sunday. After being signed by the White Sox as a free agent on Oct. 28, 2014, Guerra pitched 30 innings for the Knights in seven games. He posted a 0-3 record and 3.00 ERA while striking out 40 batters. He is the fifth pitcher to be promoted to Chicago from Charlotte this season.

RHP Blake Smith was promoted to the Knights on Sunday from Double-A Birmingham. In four games with the Barons this season, Smith was 1-0 with a 4.26 ERA. Smith was acquired from the Los Angeles Dodgers on May 23 in exchange for LHP Eric Surkamp. Before being traded, Smith posted a 0-3 record with a 1.62 ERA in 15 games with Double-A Tulsa.

Notes: Charlotte and Norfolk enter tonight's game in a three-way tie with the Durham Bulls (31-24) for first place in the International League South Division standings. ... The Knights and Tides are almost complete opposites. Charlotte is currently first in the International League with 236 runs scored this season, while Norfolk's 188 runs scored rank the team 13th out of 14 IL teams. The Tides, however, boast one of the IL's top pitching staffs. Norfolk's 2.81 ERA is the second best in the IL, while Charlotte's 3.87 ERA is 10th in the league.

Roster moves: The Knights added RHP Terance Marin to the team's active roster today. He was on loan by the Chicago White Sox to the Toros de Tijuana of the Mexican League before being reinstated on Friday. In 10 games with the Toros, he posted a 2-5 record with a 4.94 ERA. After being signed by the White Sox on July 12, 2010, he split time between the Winston-Salem Dash and the Double-A Birmingham Barons in 2014. He posted a 4-3 record along with a 4.22 ERA in 14 games with the Dash. In two starts for the Barons, he went 0-2 with a 4.97 ERA.
