Briefly: The Charlotte Knights fell to the Gwinnett Braves 5-4 on Sunday in the finale of their two-game series from Coolray Field in Lawrenceville, GA. The two teams split the series and will now open a two-game series from BB&T Ballpark . … Matt Lindstrom (on his rehab assignment from the Chicago White Sox) has allowed three runs on five hits over two innings pitched (two appearances). … Avisail Garcia (also with the Knights on rehab assignment from the White Sox) had to be removed from Sunday’s game after being hit by a pitch in the left-elbow area in his second at-bat. Garcia had gone 5-for-10 in three appearances (all at designated hitter) with Charlotte. He’s currently listed as day-to-day. … Maikel Cleto has been recalled by the White Sox. To make room for him on the roster, Chicago reassigned Taylor Thompson to the Knights. Cleto had not allowed a run in his last five appearances (7.2 IP), while striking out 13. … The Knights will welcome over 20 former Charlotte Hornets baseball players to the game on Tuesday for a special Charlotte Hornets Tribute.

RHP Zach Putnam, who began the 2014 season with the Charlotte Knights, will begin a Major League Rehab assignment with the team tonight. ... In other roster news, LHP Charlie Leesman was activated off of Charlotte’s disabled list, while RHP Matt Zaleski was placed on the DL (retroactive to August 2).
